Among responses to my use of the word UNBELIEVABLE to characterize a candidate initialled MR in the potus race presently underway, was one Jack Welsh. Yes, that Jack. Seemingly he liked the word, too, though applied it differently. To the clip ..
Minutes after this number [ US unemployment down to 7.8% ] was published, former GE CEO Jack Welch smelled CONSPIRACY and tweeted, “Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can’t debate so change numbers.”
Jack was nimble, Jack was quick, but Jack fell over the candlestick. According to Goldman Sachs’ analyst Hatzius who came on with: “The most eye-catching part of this report is the 0.3-point drop in the unemployment rate, to 7.8%. For the most part, this looks like a genuine move, as it comes alongside large increases in both the labor force (+418,000) and the tally of jobs in the survey of households (+873,000) of which 187,000 was due to government.”
As this political season reached its firing up point we heard a vast array of expert, punditry, and commentariat opine reasons for the decline, not least candidate MR(such a black sheep!) whose whole republican primary season was spent exhorting President Obama to bring the unemployment level below 8 percent, and, this attained, he very politically flipped – some say flopped – to the lacks vitality line of “they (unemployed) aint signing on, see.”
Elsewhere, a deft law prof was to unknowingly though most succinctly blog a pointer to the US Fedz initiative in FOMC committee about its monthly incentivizing scheme for employers to hire folks.
Nimble and quick aint where it’s at. Conspiracy theorists could never even so much as hold a candle to CREDIBILITY. Which is the real and big issue for the Romney camp as November 6th approaches. As my use of the word UNBELIEVABLE had intended for all. Let us now hope for Jack and jackasses, too.
Happened to see this animated character in a Sony promo for Hotel Transylvania on its hit movie launch September. Weekend before last US box office takings cleared $43m. A record I understand. So Americans – just like that! – liked the show. With its remarkable likenesses to real life folks. I was struck with the above’s high collar and flaming cape, black body suit and such a long lantern jaw. Strange how red, black and white plays in it. One could almost see bubble iteration from that wideboy countenance.. aka front and stunt.. followers in the camp latching on to his every word..
